Practice Makes Perfect (Housemates #3) by Jay Northcote | Review

Practice Makes Perfect Jay NorthcoteFriends with benefits, sex lessons, and food!

Practice Makes Perfect was absolutely delicious. Jay Northcote’s latest addition to her Housemates series continues the exploration of uni life for young adults. Dev and Ewan are so adorable together.

When Ewan finds out that Dev is looking for a sexucation, he’s quick to volunteer as tribute. They agree to help each other–Ewan will help Dev get some experience in the bedroom and Dev will help Ewan with his stats homework. Everybody wins. **wink, wink, nudge nudge**

Even though they both agree to no-strings-attached, things get complicated quickly (as things tend to do when emotions are involved) and I loved it.

The chemistry was positively electric between Ewan and Dev. They connected on so many levels, yet they were both terrified to admit their growing feelings to the other.

Dev’s social awkwardness, penchant for lists, and logical mind were a treasure. He’s so sweet and smart that I couldn’t help but feel protective of him.

If you love New Adult books, then you should check out Jay’s Housemates series. Not too angsty and with lovable characters, I’m really enjoying the books. They can all be read as standalones, though so don’t feel like you can’t pick up Dev and Ewan’s book and jump right in.

Practice Makes Perfect is an adorable and engaging book, and Dev and Ewan are easy to like and care about. I can’t wait for more in this series.

Blurb:

Getting experience with the guy next door seems like a great idea—until the lines blur.

Dev, a geeky first year physics student, has zero sexual experience and he’s determined to change that ASAP. After a bad time in halls of residence, he’s starting the summer term with different housemates and a new plan of action.

Ewan lives in the house next door to Dev. He’s young, free and single, and isn’t looking to change that anytime soon. When awkward circumstances throw them together, Ewan offers to help Dev out in the bedroom in return for maths tutoring, and Dev jumps at the chance.

They work their way through Dev’s sex-to-do list, but what starts as a perfect no-strings arrangement gets more complicated as their feelings for each other begin to grow. If they’re going to turn their lessons in lovemaking into something more permanent, they need to work out how they feel about each other—before they get to the end of Dev’s list.
