Roped In by Marie Sexton & L.A. Witt | Review

roped in marie sexton l.a. wittRoped In by Marie Sexton & L.A. Witt was a fun and smoking hot read. Because, really, who doesn’t love cowboys?

Graham was so sweet and sexy that I couldn’t help but fall for him immediately. The two things he’s been passionate about his whole life are horses and his best friend, Jackson, but when a passionate animal rights activist steps into his personal space Graham can’t help but push back.

I loved how Graham and Kaz were true opposites, but I wish that could have been explored a bit more. A little more development in that area and this book would be close to perfect for me.

The BDSM in the story is heavy on the bondage, but pretty light on most other aspects with a bit of D/s thrown in. It makes for explosive encounters between these two every time they stop arguing.

The bff Jackson went from being a real douchcanoe to someone I was sympathizing with. I want his story now! He wasn’t a good match for Graham but with a bit of polishing he’d make a great partner for someone.

This is the second edition of this book and according to Goodreads (which isn’t the most reliable source, I know) there was about thirty pages added so I’d say it’d be worth it for people who read it before to read it again. There’s still an element of wanting just a little more, but I felt it was still a very satisfying read.

Roped In is by two of the most well-known names in M/M, Marie Sexton and L.A. Witt, so it’s going to be a hit for most people. If you like blisteringly hot sex that involves a cowboy and rope–definitely check it out.

Graham and his roping partner, Jackson, have been friends since they were boys. They’ve ruled the rodeo scene for ten years running, but lately, Graham’s heart isn’t in the game. He’s tired of the bruises, the cowboy mentality, and the animal rights activists who picket every event. He’s also tired of being in love with Jackson, and nothing’s been the same between them since their disastrous drunken encounter the year before.

Then Graham has a run-in with one of the rodeo protesters, and everything changes. Kaz is young, idealistic, and sexy as hell. But he’s also a know-it-all, animal-loving vegan, bent on saving the world one cow at a time. They have next to nothing in common, but Graham can’t stop thinking about what might happen if they can stop butting heads long enough to give it a try. Unfortunately, no matter how attracted Graham is to other men, he always panics and runs when the clothes start to come off. But Kaz has an idea for getting Graham past his nerves and into bed.

All they need is a bit of rope.
